It is Volunteers’ Week, a time where as a nation we acknowledge, celebrate and thank all the work that volunteers do across the country in a range of organisations and roles.

The graphic below is from Volunteers’ Week and shows the large numbers of people who volunteer and the benefits to the UK economy.

Screen grab taken from Volunteers' Week website with some statistics: 14.2 million people in the UK have formally volunteered at least once a month. Volunteering added £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy in 2024. 25 million people in the UK volunteered informally at least once in the year. These statistics highlight the remarkable contributions of volunteers across the UK. Together, with support from organisations like you, we can continue to grow the impact of volunteering and create stronger, more connected communities.

Big thanks to all our current volunteers as well as those who have contributed so much in the past – some of whom then went on to become staff members!

This week, volunteer coordinator Kim presented our volunteers with a goodie bag as clients gave a round of applause.

Kim, a white woman in her 40s with blond hair, presents Andrew,a black man in his 80s with a goodie bag of sweets and chocolate. They are both laughing.
