Clients at our day centre in Houghton Regis decorated Easter bonnets and handmade some bunny ears.

The bonnets reflected each client’s personality. From the elegant and sophisticated of these two designs…..

….. to the flamboyant and playful of these next two creations…

Jackie is a white woman wearing a purple fleece and woolly hat. On top of her hat is a crown of bunny ears. Her face is covered with a yellow smiley face with sunglasses to protect her identity.

Ms J added an extra couple of ears “just in case they fall off”. We think this is a very sensible idea and shows great resourcefulness. Like Banksy, Ms J did not want her identity revealed, but is happy for anyone to take inspiration from her millinery skills.

Hats made by clients in both our Headway Luton and Houghton Regis centres will be entered into the best bonnet competition. Do you have a favourite?

Arts and craft activities are really good ways to practice planning and decision-making as well as develop finer motor skills after brain injury. Relaxing activities like this also enable people to express their identities and of course, have fun with others!
